Residential – Riverside Lawn Care http://riversidelawncare.biz Lawn & Landscape Mon, 12 Mar 2018 00:47:29 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=5.3.21 Fall and Spring Cleanup http://riversidelawncare.biz/service/residential-fall-and-spring-cleanup/ Mon, 21 Aug 2017 01:36:30 +0000 http://riversidelawncare.biz/?post_type=service&p=1798

Get your landscaping off to a great start with our spring cleanup services. During the spring season, lawn debris and weeds can appear, making your lawn and garden beds that much harder to manage (and enjoy) later in the season. This service is primarily performed using a variety of wheeled and backpack blowers, though certain areas may be raked by hand when applicable.

Did you know that excessive amounts of fallen leaves around beds, trees and property can lead to rodent infestation, the spread of leaf-borne mold and fungal diseases, poor soil aeration, and a host of other problems? Who knew a few leaves could cause so much damage? Spare yourself the risk and protect your landscaping and property with an annual fall cleanup.

Perennial cut-back can be included in your fall cleanup. We will cut all of your perennials back and get your landscape beds ready for winter.

We understand that your time is valuable and limited. Let us take care of your Spring/Fall cleaning so that you can enjoy a beautiful, season-ready property without the hassle.

Mowing will be performed every 7-14 days, depending on growth rate. Frequent mowing helps your lawn resist weeds, insects, and disease. Infrequent mowing causes too much grass to be removed at one time so the lawn looks thin, spotty, or burned. As a general rule, we never cut more than one-third the length of your grass at a time.

Lawns will be maintained at 2 ½ to 3 inches. We generally cut grass at three inches because a lawn cut at this height will have a deeper root system and be more resistant to weeds and disease than shorter grass. The mowing direction will be alternated each visit.

Riverside Lawn Care strongly recommends mulching the grass clippings back into your lawn. Mulching the grass is an excellent way to return valuable nutrients to your lawn. Bagging the clippings eliminates valuable nutrients from your lawn.

Plant, Tree & Shrub Pruning http://riversidelawncare.biz/service/residential-plant-tree-shrub-pruning/ Mon, 21 Aug 2017 01:33:39 +0000 http://riversidelawncare.biz/?post_type=service&p=1789

Pruning is an important part of every landscaping program. Without proper pruning, your trees and shrubs will not enjoy premium health.  Trim shrubs, bushes, decorative tree and decorative grasses, pinch off dead flowers.

Riverside Lawn Care provides the following Pruning Plans:

Pruning Plan: Serviced twice; first between June and July and a second time between August and September.

Why Pruning is important?

Pruning a tree can influence in what way the tree grows. With proper pruning, a tree can be made to grow into a certain configuration of limbs and branches that is more ideal for the structural integrity of the tree. Maintaining the tree’s structure helps to mitigate the risk of broken limbs and falling branches. A properly pruned tree will not have compromising branch structures and improper weight distribution that could lead to disaster later on in the tree’s life. Structural pruning can also greatly improve the general look of the tree. If aesthetics are important to you, proper pruning can make a tree grow in the desired fashion.

Mulch is an important element of your landscape. The material of choice is laid over the top layer of soil around the plants in a bed or garden.  It not only serves an aesthetic purpose, but many practical ones as well. Mulch is a protective cover placed over the soil to retain moisture, helps monitor and maintain the even temperature of the soil, reduce erosion, provide nutrients, and suppress weed growth and seed germination.

LANDSCAPE BED MAINTENANCE SERVICE REQUIRED
Performed once per season in the spring – Edge existing beds, spray per-emergence herbicide to control weeds, install new hardwood shredded mulch and air sweep upon completion.

One cubic yard covers approximately hundred square feet.

Rock mulch is decorative gravel or rocks ranging in size from pea-size to golf ball size. Rock mulch is often sourced from river beds.

Turf Maintenance http://riversidelawncare.biz/service/residential-turf-maintenance/ Mon, 21 Aug 2017 01:30:48 +0000 http://riversidelawncare.biz/?post_type=service&p=1784

It is important to provide vigilant landscaping and lawn care services to keep your commercial business turf beautiful, vibrant, and healthy through the year.

CORE AERATION

Let us improve the health of your lawn by aerating your soil. Lawn aeration, or core aeration, helps by pulling up plugs of soil and then allowing air, water, and nutrients to reach the roots of your grass. Lawn aeration will help strengthen the roots and allow them to grow deeper. Strong roots in grass will help make it look very green and more beautiful.

LAWN OVER-SEEDING

Over-seeding is simply the distribution of new grass seed, Over-seeding is performed right after aeration via walk-behind broadcast spreader, to an area where turf has already been established (this typically means your whole yard). Best results are attained when this is done in either early Spring or Fall, but we can provide the service at any time during the lawn care season.

LAWN ROLLING

Lawn rolling is one of our Spring services, best performed when the ground is still soft from the snow melt.  The primary purpose for having your lawn rolled is to flatten any lumps or bumps that may have developed during the winter freeze/thaw cycle.  This will help avoid an uneven appearance when the lawn is cut, and prevent scalping of the grass by the mower blades.

Lawn rolling can compact the soil to a depth of 10 inches.

Core Aeration is highly recommended after lawn rolling since this kind of compaction can damage the root system of the lawn.

LAWN DETHATICHING

Thatch is a mat of plant material mainly of grass stems and roots. A thin layer (3/4 inch or less) is normal and does no harm. In fact, a thin layer protects the grass crown and helps to reduce soil compaction. Thatch that has accumulated thicker than 3/4″ prevents water, fertilizer, and oxygen from reaching the roots.

Thatch buildup is a common problem that can cause lawns to struggle and when it is severe, it can ruin a lawn.
